The landscape of work is changing.

In the U.S. alone, over 36% of workers participate in the gig economy, and the number of people working seasonally or part-time has grown steadily year over year.

The average person with a 9-to-5 job will spend 90,000 hours of their lives sitting in an office. And chances are, you’ve questioned if that is how you are meant to live.

But somehow, we’re still telling tales of stability that are no longer true.

Traditional networking apps and social media only amplify what is considered “normal” work in industries you already know. Seasonal work occupies virtually no space when it comes to serious career conversations — it is fragmented, stigmatized, and “just a phase.”

But the truth is, there are thousands of people living and working on their own terms — working seasonally, trading skills for travel, or building self-sufficient lifestyles. But unless you’re already inside those circles, it’s either impossible to find them, or the barrier of entry is just too high.
